Hunger Action Month

United Airlines logo

A strong supporter of Hunger Action Month, United has once again graciously donated a full-page ad in their Hemispheres magazine and a 60-second spot in their domestic in-flight entertainment video reel to help Feeding America raise awareness of the hunger issue this September. Also, throughout September, United will be donating a portion of the proceeds from the sale of Choice Menu items purchased in-flight. United’s employees are also supporting the cause by volunteering at their local food banks across the country. Additionally, throughout the year, United allows you to donate your miles to Feeding America through its Mileage Plus Charity Miles Program to help offset travel budgets and provide air travel for Feeding America staff to connect with the resources they need to help feed Americans struggling with hunger. A donation of 1,000 Charity Miles helps provide 240 meals to men, women and children facing hunger in your community.

UnileverA Mission Partner of Feeding America, Unilever provides both financial and product support to our network. Most recently, Unilever provided a grant to Feeding America to help 10 member food banks support their child hunger programs. Unilever also provides significant support to Feeding America and our network through several different cause marketing campaigns, which not only help raise financial donations but awareness of our network and the hunger cause. As part of Unilever’s hunger-relief partnership with Ahold stores this year, Unilever included Hunger Action Month messaging throughout the campaign materials to help generate even more awareness for the cause. You can learn more about the campaign and get involved by visiting www.feedourfamiles.org.

ConAgra Foods

ConAgra Foods is engaging approximately 4,000 employees at their three headquarter locations in Hunger Action

Month this year. Specifically, employees are being encouraged to participate in the September 6th “Go Orange” day—by wearing orange and helping to spread the word about Hunger Action Month they will demonstrate their strong commitment to ending child hunger in America. “Go Orange Day” will be promoted through various internal communication channels including fun signage featuring their CEO wearing orange, messages from senior leadership, sharing photos of employees who wear orange on 9/6, a grant-making competition among employees and even (possibly) turning a fountain on their corporate campus orange! ConAgra Foods is Feeding America’s leadership partner in the fight to end child hunger. ConAgra Foods and ConAgra Foods Foundation have donated more than $37 million and 290 million pounds of food to Feeding America since 1993.

T.G.I. Friday's

T.G.I. Friday’s will continue their strategic partnership with Feeding America by supporting Hunger Action Month this September with hunger-relief efforts at the national and local level.  Restaurant employees are encouraged to join together and volunteer at the local food bank, host a meal for local food bank employees, as well as, cater a food bank event to raise awareness about hunger in America.  The corporate office will be educating the public about food insecurity and Feeding America’s hunger-relief efforts by promoting Hunger Action Month through its social media channels and by leveraging its “Give Me More Stripes” Reward Club members to take action and make a difference!
