A strong supporter of Hunger Action Month, United has once again graciously donated a full-page ad in their Hemispheres magazine and a 60-second spot in their domestic in-flight entertainment video reel to help Feeding America raise awareness of the hunger issue this September. United’s employees are also getting behind the cause by volunteering at their local food banks across the country. Additionally, throughout the year, United allows you to donate your miles to Feeding America through its Mileage Plus Charity Miles Program to help offset travel budgets and provide air travel for Feeding America staff to connect with the resources they need to help feed Americans struggling with hunger. A donation of 1,000 Charity Miles helps provide 240 meals to men, women and children facing hunger in your community.

TGIFriday’s will kick off their strategic partnership with Feeding America with strong support of Hunger Action Month. They will engage their restaurant and Support Center team members in hunger relief efforts at both the local and national level to help those in need. All front of the house Friday’s restaurant employees will be wearing Hunger Action Month “Flair”. Friday’s will also encourage their employees to volunteer locally and share the hunger action month PSA’s with their friends and family. Also Friday’s restaurants are encouraged to host a meal for food bank staff at their restaurants and also to cater an offsite meal in support of local food bank efforts. Also, TGIFriday’s has named Feeding America the charity of choice for its World Bartender Championship. Many of those events will take place during September for potential local tie ins with Hunger Action Month. Food Banks should contact the restaurants in their service area for details.

For more than 25 years, Kraft Foods has supported the work and mission of Feeding America and has made a substantial impact on the issue of hunger in the US. As part of its ongoing support, in 2011 Kraft Foods has granted 10 “mobile farmer’s markets” to Feeding America food banks in local communities. Their support also includes the 2011 Kraft Huddle to Fight Hunger Bowl, a groundbreaking signature campaign which will see Kraft donate up to 4 million meals via online and mobile activities, as part of their goal to provide 25 million meals to the food insecure in the United States. The campaign will culminate in the Kraft Fight Hunger Bowl on December 31, 2011 in San Francisco. Kraft’s ongoing commitment to Hunger Action Month will include social media activation and wide-ranging public relations campaigns in support of Feeding America’s mission.
